A Wildfire Smoke Health Advisory remains in effect for much of southern Colorado as a result of multiple wildfires. El Paso County, southeast Colorado, and south-central Colorado are all included in this advisory. The West Fork Fire, East Peak Fire, and Bull Gulch fires are cited as the main contributors.

El Paso County Public Health says “People are the best monitors of air quality – you should pay attention to what you are feeling, seeing and smelling.”

If you see or smell smoke, the health department says that’s a good indicator to reduce exposure. El Paso County Public Health is advising people to reduce vigorous outdoor activity, especially for young children and those with respiratory issues.
