Three structures have been lost so far.  They are in point of protection mode, focusing on preeserving life and valuable structures.

Highway 50 from First street in Cañon City to Highway 9 is closed in order to focus on firefighting efforts.

Their main concerns are the weather, dryness, high-tension power lines and a water tank.

Cañon City Mayor:

Please continue daily business.  There are no evacuations in Cañon City at this time.  If there are evacuations, reverse 911 and canvassing will notify citizens.

How can you help?  Take care of your neighbors and make financial contributions to the Red Cross.
