OffTopicOutside
Off Topic is a brand new weekly hour-long radio program hosted by Colorado College professors Steven Hayward and Kathy Giuffre. The intention of the show is to constellate ideas through witty, vibrant conversation and to provide a space to explore issues and ideas in greater depth and from a perspective often absent from the popular media. Sometimes to get the whole story, you need to go off topic, which is something that the show is not afraid to do. Which is what the show is all about. Quite often, in this digitized, fragmentary world, off topic is the most topical, the most relevant place to be. The program is produced at the Tim Gill Center for Public Media in Colorado Springs by Craig Richardson and Jake Brownell.

  1. Andrew says:

This sounds fantastic – can’t wait to experience the full episode. I’ll be streaming from the east -

  2. Alan Hirsch says:

Perhaps KRCC should replace one of the four “story telling” programs on the weekend with the news and commentary on local events that Off Topic is supposed to provide. I no longer listen to KRCC regularly on Saturday and Sunday afternoons because This American Life, The Moth Hour, Snap Judgement, and Wiretap all sound alike to me and run back-to-back are very boring to me. And to replace Democracy Now on Friday breaks the continuity of this issue reporting program. Fortunately, Democracy Now is broadcast on DISH on channel 9415 and on DirectTV on channel 348 so I can record it and listen when I have a break in my schedule.

    Listening now! :-)

  4. This show was really terrific – looking forward to more next week! I’m sorry my kids didn’t get to play that Lego game, but also relieved, since it didn’t last.

  5. Kelly says:

    Loved the show – congrats!

  6. Ivan Bull says:

Great sampler, but when are we going to get the full version on-line? Hats off to Steven, Kathy, Graig, and the whole crew! I second the idea of a Saturday or Sunday time slot – 9:00 am Saturday?

  7. Ivan T. Bull says:

You sir, are a scholar and a gentalman! Continue the good work.
