It’s opera time in Colorado Springs again.  For the past 15 years, Opera Theatre of the Rockies has steadfastly kindled the fire of haute culture here in the shadow of America’s Mountain.  In a marked departure from last year’s tragedy, Verde’s La Traviata (click HERE to view last year’s segment), the Opera Theatre presents a less grief-ridden affair with Johann Strauss’ operetta, Die Fledermaus (the flying mouse, or… uh, bat). We visited a recent rehearsal and spoke with Artistic Director Martile Rowland and several of the performers who’ve been assembled from across the country.
