I recently visited a rehearsal of THEATREWORKS’ production of Red, a Tony award winning play by John Logan, opening this Thursday, January 31st. The play is centered upon the preeminent 20th century painter, Mark Rothko, in the midst of the creation of the Seagram Murals. I spoke with director Joseph Discher and actors Thom Christopher and Jordan Coughtry.

Red opens January 31st and runs through February 17th at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater in Colorado Springs. You can find more information by visiting THEATREWORKS’ website, HERE.

One Response to Seeing Red: Mark Rothko at THEATREWORKS

  1. Bill says:

I appreciate art but I don’t ordinarily go looking for it. But when it gets dropped in my in-box, I’m glad that others did the digging for these gems and knew that I’d like them even before I knew so myself. e.g. who, outside of Manitou, Old Colo City & KRCC would have known about the Chair Project? And who, in El Paso county, knew about Mark Rothko? I didn’t. Keep raising the culture bar for us.
