Colorado Democrats made history today by selecting the first openly gay man to be the speaker of the state House of Representatives. Bente Birkeland has more from the capitol.

Lawmakers also chose John Morse of Colorado Springs to lead the Senate, while Bill Cadman, also of El Paso County will be the Senate Republican leader.
