“‘Games, refreshments and a program were in order for 35 youngsters at the San Luis Town School Friday morning, when they celebrated Halloween at a costume party in the school at 1511 N. Weber St. The program, made up of songs, dances, poems, stories and an art exhibit, was directed by Mrs. Charles Straeb and Mrs. Allen Mathias. Mrs. Romburg Smith is school director. These four youngsters participated in the fun. They are left to right, Susan Farrington, Jack Newton, John Meadows and Dick Roebkin.’ Photo appeared in the Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph on October 31, 1953, page 7.”
