The Waldo Canyon Fire broke through containment lines yesterday and drove into Colorado Springs, prompting evacuations to grow to an estimated 32,000. Officials held a press briefing around 8:30, while firefighters continued to work the area. As of late last night, officials put the fire at about 6200 acres, with 5% containment. Structures were lost, though no comment was given as to how many. No reported injuries at that time. KRCC’s Andrea Chalfin has more from the press briefing and on what happened.
