It’s been an incredible year for Seattle music group The Head and The Heart, who have gone from playing house concerts for local music blogger Heather Browne (Fuel/Friends) a year ago to now opening for The Shins at Red Rocks next week. The band recently returned to Colorado Springs to reprise their Chapel Session recording hour, performing three brand new songs and reworking an older, well-loved one.

While we wait for the sophomore album follow-up to their Sub Pop Records debut last year, listen here to co-songwriter Josiah Johnson’s stirring new creation, “Fire/Fear”:
