If you didn’t know that Big Something Producer Noel Black is also poet, consider yourself warned. Tonight (4/5/12) in the Gates Common Room in Palmer Hall (behind Tutt Library) on the Colorado College Campus at 7 p.m., Mr. Black will read poems from his recently published full-length collection Uselysses (Ugly Duckling Presse). Don’t just take our word for it, here’s what the venerable BOMBlog has to say about his writing:
Black spins a minute moment, no matter how absurd or banal, into something juicy for the eyes, ears, and pun-attuned reader. After dog-earing three out of every four pages I gave it up and accepted the book as a fully engrossing whole… Black’s work goes far to break down the pedestal of poetry, but like a competent artist, he has a scaffold of knowledge to support his heresy.

You can also read the entirety of Black’s chapbook Moby K. Dick, which includes a series of collages like the one below, for FREE at the Ugly Duckling website HERE
You can buy a copy of the book Thursday night at the reading or HERE at the Ugly Duckling Presse website.
