We decided to take in some culture and wound up visiting with the fine folks over at THEATREWORKS as they were putting the finishing touches on their production of Friedrich Schiller’s Mary Stuart, a play that THEATREWORKS artistic director Murray Ross describes as an Elizabethan version of West Wing.

Mary Stuart runs through May 6th at the Dusty Loo Bon Vivant Theater on the UCCS Campus, more details HERE.

I took my fourteen year old granddaughter to the play last night and was really pleased, not only with the production and acting, but also at her reaction to the play. What a pleasure it was to introduce her to Theatreworks. We’ve generally done Broadway type shows. This production was wonderful.

Move over, Tony Kuschner! Get thee to an exit, Arthur Miller! Scram, Mamet! There’s a…new(?) playwrite taking center stage…by sturm (sic)! I mean Schiller!
