The Colorado Department of Corrections, or the DOC, announced yesterday they will be closing Colorado State Penitentiary II in Canon City. The Canon City Daily Record reports there will be a town hall meeting tonight to discuss the closure…and, Residents on Colorado’s eastern plains are trying to determine the extent of damage and the number of farm animals killed following Sunday’s wildfire.
