Power companies serving the San Luis Valley say they plan to press ahead after Xcel Energy officials said they’re considering abandoning a controversial $180-million power line into the valley…An eighth person has died in Colorado due to an outbreak of listeria in cantaloupe, raising the national death toll to 29…and, about 250 soldiers from Ft. Carson’s 10th Combat Support Hospital are preparing for a yearlong deployment in Afghanistan.
