Reflections on The Manitou Chair Project
Local artist Sean O’Meallie stopped by to discuss his brain baby, The Manitou Chair Project. The installation itself which consisted of lining chairs down the center of Manitou Ave. for a half a mile was completed on October 9th. O’Meallie shares dozens of images from the day of the installation and talks about what’s next.
You can find out more about the chair project by visiting ManitouChairProject.org and you can find out how you can help by checking out the project’s Kickstarter page HERE.

I like it. Party art.
Well done all.
SO COOL!!! Looks like some photography from Carol Dass in there? Great project, Sean.
No Carol photos there, but they’re coming.
I knew about the chair project in Manitou but thanks to THE BIG SOMETHING for sharing this background piece. I love the project and hope we see more large scale community art projects in Manitou and C/S.
How many chairs in all were there?
Very joyful project!
The Gazette mentioned that a calendar on the chair project would be forthcoming. When will it be available and where can it be purchased.
Hi Sean, I worked with both Ryan and Patrick at Chinook.
