We recently met with Austrian artist Hermann Nitsch at the exhibit of his work, Bloodlines: Paintings by Hermann Nitsch, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver. In addition to painting, Nitsch’s artistic practice includes a sort of theatre of reality which bears a passing resemblance to the mystery plays of Europe in the middle ages. Nitsch and curator, Simon Zalkind contextualize the exhibit within the scope of the artist’s work.

Bloodlines: Paintings by Hermann Nitsch is on view through May 29 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Denver, you can find out more by visiting their site, HERE.
