In Colorado Springs, D-11 school officials deal with having to make $13 million in cuts for the 2011-2012 school year (Gazette). The death rate for children and teens in Pueblo is among the highest in the state (Chieftain). Pueblo City Schools face cutting about 8% from its general budget (Chieftain, KOAA).
