Portrait of Alma Gluck (1884-1938 ). She was an operatic soprano, the wife of violinist Efrem Zimbalist, Sr., and mother of actor Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. Ms. Gluck sang at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City from 1909 until 1912.
This image was made into into a postcard. Printed on front “Mme. Gluck and Miss Jewell / Two Smiles for Colorado Springs”. Printed on back “Under the auspices of the Colorado Springs Musical Club, Miss Alma Gluck, world famous soprano, will appear in concert at The Burns, on Friday evening, March 12th. Miss Gluck’s charming personality and rare ability as an artist offer a real treat in which everyone in this community who can possibly afford to do so, should hear. Because of the large demand expected tickets have already been put on sale at Willis’, 22 East Kiowa Street; 50 cents to $2.00.”
