Designed by Ducth architect Nicolaas van den Arend, the Van Briggle Pottery building at the corner of Uintah and Glen Avenue is a spectacular example of Flemish farmouse/Arts and Crafts styles and has a wide array of Van Briggle tiles and pottery incorporated into the structure, which were once meant to advertise the signature ceramic wares to tourists traveling by train.

This Saturday, The Women’s Education Society, or W.E.S., of Colorado College will give their annual tours of the building (now occupied by Colorado College’s Facilities Services) every hour between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

You can read more about the building HERE at Colorado College’s website, but don’t miss the opportunity to see these great ceramic works up close and learn the full history of the building. Tickets are $10 and proceeds go toward scholarships. Full details and contact information can be found HERE.

Take a sneak preview of some of the building’s beautiful details in the slide show above.

(Many thanks to Linda Crissey of W.E.S. and Colorado College Facilities Services for their help.)
