Oskar Eustis, artistic director of the Public Theatre in New York City and the New York Shakespeare Festival, is most well-known for his role in commissioning and premiering Tony Kushner’s Angels in America as well as producing the Tony award winning revival of Hair on Broadway. Mr Eustis will be presenting a lecture on the state of professional theatre in the United States, Wednesday, October 6th at 7:30 pm as part of THEATREWORKS’ Prologue lecture series.

We spoke with Mr. Eustis via telephone about his background in the theatre and the state of things in the American professional theatre.

    Wow! What a coup to get Oskar to come UCCS. I wish I could make it to the lecture.
    I’ve made it to a couple of the other lectures in the prologue series. They have been great. Thank you Kevin Landis and the UCCS Theatre Department for bringing Oskar to Colorado. It should be quite an evening.
