Colorado is joining 40 other states that plan to adopt national education standards in English and math. The state board of education approved the standards on Monday. Proponents say it’ll make students more competitive internationally, but others worry it will lead to a federal takeover of the state’s education system. Bente Birkeland has more from the state capitol.
