As we hope you already know from THIS POST, KRCC and the Independent Film Society of Colorado are co-sponsoring The Big Little Short Film Contest. If you’re planning to participate, we hope it’s going well and we wanted to remind you that the deadline is at the end of this month. For those of you who may not have known about it or simply forgot, we want to remind you that there’s still just under two weeks to make a quick film and submit it. Once again,The 1st and only prize will be to have your short film or video screened at the 2010 IFSOC Indie Film Fest next Spring.

Here, once again, are the rules:

1) All films/videos must be 10 minutes or less.

2). When completed, films/videos must be uploaded to YouTube and embeddable.

3). Films/videos must be shot in Colorado (preferably in Southern Colorado).

4) Films/videos must be without restrictions and requirements distribution and premiere status.

5). We welcome all films and videos of all genres, but no pornography, please. The Big Little Film Contest organizers rerserves the right to have final say over what is considered appropriate or inappropriate material, but we think you can figure it out. If you need clarification, please email us at thebigsomething@krcc.org.

6). All entrants grant KRCC’s The Big Something a non-exclusive limited use agreement to use film titles or trailers or film posters for promotional materials including online, print or broadcast media to promote the competition and selected films to the industry and general public. Filmmakers retain all rights, title and interest in their films and all intellectual property.

7). All music must be self-composed, self-recorded, or fully-licensed third party music. The music licenses must cover the publishing and the synch license.

8). Your film/video cannot contain third party copyrighted material (another company’s logo or artwork).

9). Finally, the film/video must be created between July 21 and October 21, 2009 (i.e. no pre-existing films/videos will qualify).

Keep in mind that your film can be in any genre: horror, sci-fi, documentary, western, etc.

In the mean time, here are a few examples of short films and videos shot and created in Colorado to give you some something from which to begin and depart:

Here are a few more possible inspirations NOT shot in Colorado HERE, HERE, and HERE.
