President-elect Barack Obama’s pick to lead the Interior Department is promising to help wean the country off foreign oil. Colorado Senator Ken Salazar says this can happen by expanding renewable energy on public lands in the United States and promoting the “wise use” of traditional energy sources. Salazar’s confirmation hearing was held today before a senate panel. Victor Locke of KSUT, Four Corners Public Radio reports for Rocky Mountain Community Radio.
